Sadie’s Waltz was composed by Vermont musician Pete Sutherland in 1980, and named after a calico kitten who adopted his banjo case as a bed. Sutherland published it in his tune collection “Bareface” and it also appears in “The Waltz Book Vol. 2”. Oakum Bay String Band always played it in a waltz medley following “Peeler Creek”. A few chord challenges, too, for the piano or guitar player.
