March 20-22 Thirtieth Annual Down East Country Dance Festival. Yep, Thirtieth year! How many have been to them all? The “DEFFA Dance Fest” will be at the Mount Ararat Middle School in Topsham once again this year. Dates are Friday, Mar 20 – Saturday, Mar 21 and the Survivor’s Dance will once again be at Bowdoinham Town Hall on Sunday, Mar 22. Headliners will be Polaris with Steve Zakon-Anderson calling and LOTS of Maine acts, bands and callers. ALSO, our fearless leader, Doug Protsik, will be leading the festival orchestra playing for the contra dance at 6PM in the main hall.. March 28, 6:00 pm – 9:30 pm Cherryfield, Cajun Dinner and Dance $20 Back for another year. Mardi Gras in Downeast Maine!!! at the old Cherryfield Academy, 53 Main St., Cherryfield, ME Authentic Cajun meal starts at 6PM. Jambalaya and etouffee with crawfish brought up from down south just for this meal!! After dinner, “dance hall” style music by Maine’s own JimmyJo and the Jumbol’Ayuhs. This event is the ultimate cabin fever reliever!! $20 “donation” includes the meal! Bring a friend, bring a beverage, come eat, dance or just hang out and listen.. aieeeee!
